Strategy to achieve our goals

An essential part of Workability Europe's work will focus on mobilising members and facilitating cooperation between them, with the view to contributing to the development of a long term disability strategy. A central tool for this task is the WE website, which will be extended to include expert databases to uncover hidden potential and a forum so that members can actively engage each other.

In order to fully engage WE's membership in the decision making process regarding national and Europen legislation it is necessary to inform the membership on ongoing processes and existing legislation. WE therefore plans to conduct 6 workshops each year conducting in different European member states.

Topics will be the UNCRPD, the EU Disability Strategy 2010-20 and the respective social programmes of the EU Presidencies. Further topics will include assistive technologies, supported employment as well the different "European Years" (i.e. Volunteering). The data used and accumulated will be disseminated amongst the membership and made available on WE's website.

Events will take place in different EU member states and workshops will ideally coincide with significant meetings of WE's members (AGMs, conferences, etc.) or trade fairs in order to use ressources efficiently and ensure broad participation. Furthermore, two workshop a year will be held in the country  holding the EU Presidency at the time.

Nevertheless, WE will also maintain close working relationships and will contribute to the work of other relevant organisations in Brussels (i.e. European Disability Forum, Social Platform), to ensure that the interest of our members and the people they represent are being considered in decision making processes at the highest level.
